MOLECULAR PATHOLOGY TESTING

LUNG CARCINOMA MOLECULAR ANALYSIS

Clinical Significance:

The lung carcinoma molecular analysis is a panel of the following molecular tests:

  • Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) Mutation Analysis
  • FISH for ALK Rearrangements
  • FISH for ROS1 Rearrangements
  • FISH for RET Gene Rearrangements
  • FISH for MET Gene Amplification
  • BRAF V600E Mutation Assay

Details of each of the above tests to follow

The American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO) and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend lung cancer molecular analysis for patients with non small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) who are being considered for EGFR TKI or critozinib therapies.
